Generation Why? began when Rich German asked a simple yet perplexing question: Why are there over 1.6 million homeless children in the wealthiest country on the planet? Seeking answers, Rich began a personal and filmic quest to shine the light on America’s hidden reality and to create real solutions for the children who have no voice. In addition to his charity work, Rich is a best-selling author and a highly sought-after business and lifestyle coach. He lives in Laguna Beach, California.
Christine Brooke is the founder of the non-profit Dreamweaver foundation and is active as a mentor in the lives of underserved teens. Christine developed Dreamweaver to support and enfranchise at-risk foster care youth. In joining Generation Why? she brings her personal experience as a teen in foster care as well as her passion for empowering youth to live a life they love. She has served professionally as a healthcare provider and is devoted to volunteering her time to underserved communities and mentoring as a Big Sister. She currently sits as Chapter Member Outreach Chair on the board of Foster Care Alumni of America. Christine has been instrumental in the creative, marketing and collaborative process of the Generation Why? project and is committed to making a difference in the lives of homeless youth.
Tami started the first life coaching company for teen girls in the United States and has personally championed more than 10,000 girls nationwide. Tami has appeared on national television and radio programs, is the author of The Did-Wells Journal for girls, and is the creator of the top selling audio program for parents, Communication: Turning Battles into Bridges with Your Teen. She graduated from UCLA and received her master's degree from Loyola Marymount University. Tami is excited to join the Generation Why? team because of her passion for empowering all kids and teens to live a life that is filled with safety, love, and big possibilities for their future.

Generation Why? is being created by Change For Balance Productions (CFBP). CFBP is a film production company that creates media to support philanthropic endeavors. They use their filmmaking expertise to raise awareness about crucial issues and are directly involved in creating viable solutions to ensure that positive change occurs. Adam Steel, John McCarthy and Roddy Tabatabai join the Generation Why? team and represent CFBP. Read their individual bios below.
Roddy Tabatabai attended the University of California, San Diego, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with a focus in media production. Roddy’s studies emphasized historical trends in media growth, and he soon reached the conclusion that the increasingly rapid media and communication revolution had magnified the power of mass communication as an instrument for positive social change. An award winning director, cinematographer, and editor, Roddy understands the power of common goals and shared intentions, a belief he will leverage in the creation of Generation Why?
Adam has always been dedicated to making the world a better place. He volunteered in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where he helped rebuild an orphanage and teach English, and he later spent a year as a mentor for Autistic kids and teens. He now has his own radio show, Youth of the Nation, which is a program to inform and inspire the youth of the world to take positive action. Adam is currently a mentor for homeless youth living in Orange County and is dedicated to giving all youth the opportunities they deserve. His goal is to light the “conscious flame” in all of us.
John McCarthy grew up in Southern California and attended the University of California, San Diego where he could pursue studies in American politics, immigration policy, and social movements. Through experience in both government and finance, John honed his communication and writing skills and now works to merge his passions and his talents. His main goal is to inspire alternative thinking and to create a more equitable and conscientious world. John was the lead writer on the award-winning documentary Equine Destiny.
